Alpine Equipment Company was born out of a simple truth: the best gear advice comes from people who actually use the gear. We're a team of climbers, trail runners, and hikers based in the UK — and between us, we've got global peak-scaling expeditions and 100-mile ultramarathons under our belts.

We started AEC because we were frustrated with generic outdoor retailers stocking whatever sold, not whatever performed. We wanted a shop built around honest expertise, curated brands, and real conversations about what works in the field.

Why We Curate the Way We Do

Every brand on our shelves has earned its place. We carry Berghaus, Wild Country, Ocun, Inselberg, Vaga, Grangers, Ultimate Direction, and others because we've tested them ourselves — on crags, in the mountains, and on long trail days where kit failure isn't an option.

We look for three things in every product we stock: performance under pressure, durability that justifies the price, and a commitment to doing things right — for the environment and for the people making the gear.
